Etology publisher review
Posted on November 20, 2007 | | Share |
Etology (aka AdTology) is one of the newer players on the CPC (Cost Per Click) publisher market. It has an inovative approach to pricing, since Etology lets publishers specify their own price for the advertising inventory on their websites.
It serves as an open market between advertisers and publishers allowing them to easily buy and sell advertising space.Ad sizes and formats
Etology serves text ads and banner ads in all types of standard ad units, including banners, skyscrapers and inline ads. They offer the following ad formats: standard rectangle (184×360), full banner (468×60), half banner (234×60), leaderboard (728×90), square button (125×125), vertical banner (120×240), small rectangle (180×150), medium rectangle (300×250), large rectangle (336×280) and square pop-up (250×250).
The good thing is that you can create your own banners sizes and you can customize the font, color and number of links displayed on the ad, which I must say is quite a boost on your CTR.
Publisher interface review
The publisher interface is not something special, a bit hard to navigate but once you get used to it you can easily find what you are looking for, from setting up ad spaces to viewing your statistics. The statistics are almost real time and allow you to view your earnings and your share.
Customer service and support
There is a good FAQ section on the site which covers most of the questions you might have. If you need something more specific, you can contact the Etology support easily and the responce arrives usually in 24-48 hours.
Payment options
Etology‘s minimum payout is set at USD$30 dollars. Currently, US publishers are paid only by check via US postal service. International customers can be paid by check, PayPal, Epassporte, or by bank wire (USD$500 dollar minimum for bank wire).
Etology pays on a Net 25 basis, this means that payments are sent twenty-five (25) days after the last day of the month. Once you have exceeded minimum payout, around the 15th of the month an email will be sent, notifying you of an upcoming payment.
International publishers are required to respond to that email informing us of their preferred method of payment.
