I couldn’t find much info about it or reviews, but I figured I’d give it a try. They give 70% and they pay every 15 days. They immediately approved me (and I think they immediately approve everyone- so this is a good option if your starting out) but then I also have to get in touch with them by email and explain where my traffic comes from before getting paid.

I’m not exactly sure what that’s about, but they seem eager for you to email them about questions, problems, advice, anything. Customer service is always nice, and I’m assuming they are small so can handle responding personally to their members. Another thing I like about them is there stats. Take a look at a piece of their stats program:

I’d say their stats are a step above Adsese. Plus their user interface is pretty, which is always nice. I’m going to add it to a site or 2 to experiment and then I’ll post a full review once I have enough data to give an intelligent opinion of PeakClick.

p.s. They give you lots of options to earn money. I’m not sure how much you can make off of them (for instance I’d question if the toolbar actually generates money). Much like Google’s custom search for websites, the mobile version can be branded with your own logo and design to make it feel for like your property. From there, users can search the Web as well as Google’s local, image, and news content.

Just as it does on the Web, Google dominates mobile search in terms of market share. Their mobile search experience is sparse and quick-loading, just like Web search. Extending this functionality to publishers, who can also generate revenue from adding Google mobile search, is simply a slam dunk.

As for how profitable this could be for publishers, the ads are naturally powered by AdSense for Mobile, which has already been in use for selling contextual ads on third-party mobile sites. Though the ad market might currently be weak, search typically performs better than contextual, so there is certainly money to be made here, both for Google and publishers.

AdSense for Mobile Search isn’t yet up-and-running for everyone to test, however. The company is currently looking for beta testers – the application can be found here.

2.)    Direct Advertising
One of the best ways (if not the best) to monetize your blog is to create your own on site advertising and to sell these spots yourself. Not only are you in control of what advertisements are on the site, but you are receiving full payment for each spot. The majority of blogs are implementing 125×125 ad spots on their pages for direct advertising.

3.)    Paid Reviews
Once you have an established blog or brand, you may want to start offering services for exposure on your blog, such as a sponsored or paid review/post. The best way to offer paid reviews on your blog is to setup an advertising page for sponsored reviews, or you can also join “sponsored review” networks like ReviewMe and PayPerPost, which will feature your blog in their directory and send you new customers, in exchange for a commission percentage.

4.)    Contextual Advertising
Placing advertising on your site from Google Adsense is a form of contextual advertising, but it is also still also banner advertising and not displayed directly within your written content. There are many advertising networks out there like MediaText or Kontera, which will find targeted keywords in your blog content and link them to specific advertisers. You are then paid per click to these advertisements.

5.)    Self Managed Content Links
Just like using any advertising network, the less work you have to do, usually the smaller margin you will receive. Instead of using  a company like Kontera, you can purchase a word press plugin (such as wp affiliate pro, which I also use) and manage your own content advertising. The best way to do this would be through affiliate networks and selecting offers that best match your content and linking up related keywords in your blog content.

6.)    Referrals
Depending on your blog niche market, you can earn commissions on referring your readers to other networks or web site. A great example of this is for affiliate marketing. If you refer an affiliate to a network, you can receive a percentage from all commissions they generate for the life of their account. Another example would be to provide your visitors to a service they are billed monthly for, some programs will then pay you a commission every month as long as they remain a subscriber.

7.)    Widget Based Programs
If you currently run a blog that is focused on product reviews or about any type of item sold in stores or online, you may find that “widget based” programs perform best with your blog. Programs like Chitika, WidgetBucks, Shopzilla and TZZ Media will all display relevant advertising on your blog, matching up with your content. Most of these programs pay on a per click basis. As most of these programs are widget based, you will have actual text and picture ads displayed on your blog, rather than just text within your content.

8.)    Contests & Promotions
Though you may not get paid for running contests or promotions on your blog, if you run them correctly, you can be compensated with a prize or additional advertising. Additionally, running contests will also increase your readership, as everyone likes free stuff! (Example: If you are running a niche blog on digital cameras and Nikon or Canon were to offer you a free camera to review and one to give away to your readers, this would be a great form of compensation, while offering great information to your readers.)

9.)    Consulting
One of the best ways for you to get exposure for yourself or your brand name, is through having a well known blog. As your readership and branding grows, you may be able to offer “consulting” services if you become a prominent and very knowledgeable in your niche area. There are many very big name bloggers out there who make all of their money off public speaking or consulting, and have NO advertisements on their blogs.

10.)    Self Branding
As cliché as it may sound, the “self branding” and exposure you can receive from your blog may end up being the most power asset you can receive. Not only are you building up your brand name, and people are rushing to your blog with every new post you write, but you are also becoming an expert in your niche area and advertisers will flock to you. As you gain a bigger presence online, you will also start networking more and more, which will only continue to grow your blog and your bottom line.

The most important thing to remember when trying to make money through blogging, is that it is NOT fast and it is NOT easy. It’s actually one of the slowest ways to make money online, and as a blogger you will need to establish yourself and continue to write quality content. It’s the long term value and connections you will establish over time that can make your blogging experience priceless.

Performance review of PubMatic automated ad optimization

On my site, I currently only have one Google Adsense block that is right below the post title before the actual content of the blog post. It’s a 336×280 rectangle and it has been performing well over in the last few months, especially in December of 2007.

I also decided to sign up with a few different ad networks other than Google Adsense to insure that I would be getting the highest ECPM ad displayed on the site. I joined the Yahoo Publisher Network, Tribal Fusion, and BlueLithium. They also support many other ad networks, so you can test it out with the network you are currently using.

According to PubMatic, they only need about 50,000 to 70,000 page impressions in order to completely optimize their display of the ads. At first, the colors were horrendous with matches like black orange, or neon pink and blue. I’m not even sure why they try those colors together since they look so terrible.

The ECPM dropped the first day quite dramatically as can be excepted since the ads were absolutely disgusting to look at, much less click on! After a few days, the color combinations became slightly better, but still quite bad and the ECPM and click through-rate were both miserable, almost 40 to 50% percent less than before.

Even with the loss of income, I decided to stick it through till I gave them all the impressions they needed for their system to “optimize”. I ran the ads from January 5th to the 21st with a total of about 90,000 page impressions.

Eventually, PubMatic only displayed Google Adsense ads in various color combos and not very much of Yahoo or any other network.

I have to say that I was disappointed with the performance of their system. Even after all of that time and a significant increase in traffic from Google, my income actually went DOWN!

The amount of money that I had previously made on 8,000 impressions now needed 13,000! This was very disheartening and I’m not sure how well this service works for technology blogs. It may work well for some sites, but I’m fairly certain that the way it’s setup right now, it won’t work for me.

I thought that eventually PubMatic would at least be able to get me the same ECPM that I was getting just be choosing the default ad color scheme from Google, but it did far worse.

So if you’re looking to optimize your ads, you might want to wait out on using any of these services unless you are absolutely making no money from your ads currently.

La un moment dat, dupa activarea contului, primiti un cod PIN de activare a contului (il primiti prin posta).

Banii de la Google AdSense ii puteti primi in fiecare luna in care suma cumulata de la ultimul cec trimis este de 100$.

Nu mai stati pe ganduri. Chiar merita.
